Silkem uses special thermal and mechanical treatment of aluminum oxides to make a wide range of specialty aluminas, which are used in the production of technical and household ceramics, glazes and frits.
Alumina for ceramics
Properties such as thermostability, electrical resistance, hardness, high melting point and chemical resistance make alumina one of the most useful raw materials for technical ceramics such as grinding bodies and ceramic mill coatings, filters, catalyst supports, abrasion protection and voltage insulators.
Another application area is standard ceramics, such as interior decoration products and household ceramics (in the basic structure of these elements, glazes, frits).
